Maru Petrova

Maru Petrova is known in the Eurovision community for her role as the Staging Director for the Moldovan Eurovision selection show between 2016 and 2019.

During Maru’s time as Staging Director for the selection show, two of the four eventual winners of the show went on to advance to the Eurovision final, with SunStroke Project coming third, Moldova’s best ever placing at the contest. She currently works as an editor at Russia Radio Moldova, and also runs an entertainment company called Marumojet. | Find out more about this artist and others like them at

Eurojury is the flagship broadcast of Showcase, celebrating the music of the Eurovision Song Contest with juries of up to 180 entertainment industry professionals. Rob Lilley has hosted the televised event since the fourth edition in 2016, succeeding Josh Dubovie and Linda Martin during the show's time as a radio broadcast. Eurojury is known for producing an accurate simulation of the results likely to be seen at the Eurovision Song Contest in May and is often used by bookmakers and broadcasters as a guide and prediction of the grand final result.

Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest

Moldova debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 when the contest was held in Kyiv, Ukraine. In 2005 Moldova debuted in the contest alongside Bulgaria, while that year Hungary also returned to the contest having been absent since 1998. Moldova was in its worse run of results in their history in the contest, having failed to make it to the final between 2014 and 2016.
