Argo

Agro (previously Europond) is a band that fuses Ponitc folk music with modern music. The band has six members: Christina Lachana (vocals), Maria Venetikidou (backing vocals), Vladimiros Sofianidis (vocals), Kostas Topouzis (Pontian lyra), Ilias Kesidis (backing vocals, percussion) and Alekos Papadopoulos (davul).

In 2016, Argo represented Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm with the song “Utopian Land”. They failed to qualify for the final, leaving Greece out of the final for the first time since the introduction of the semi-finals. In 2019, they released a new single called “Eimai edo”.

Eurojury

Eurojury is the flagship broadcast of Showcase, celebrating the music of the Eurovision Song Contest with juries of up to 180 entertainment industry professionals. Rob Lilley has hosted the televised event since the fourth edition in 2016, succeeding Josh Dubovie and Linda Martin during the show's time as a radio broadcast. Eurojury is known for producing an accurate simulation of the results likely to be seen at the Eurovision Song Contest in May and is often used by bookmakers and broadcasters as a guide and prediction of the grand final result.

Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest

Greece debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974, when they were represented by Marinella and the song “Krasi, thalassa kai t’agori mou” which finished in 11th place with 7 points. Three years later Greece earned their first top 5 finish with Paschalis, Marianna, Robert and Bessy who finished in 5th place with “Mathima solfege”. In 2001 Greece achieved their first top 3 result with Antique and the song “I Would Die For You”. The song became a European hit, and charted across the continent. In 2005 Helena Paparizou returned to the Eurovision stage as a solo artist and brought Greece their first, and to date only, victory. Her song “My Number One” won with 230 points, beating runners-up Malta by 38 points.
